Care After Your Cat's Surgery
After any surgery, your cat may be a little disoriented, lethargic, and not like their usual playful selves. It can take up to 24 hours for the anesthesia to completely wear off, so it’s best to give your cat a quiet, isolated place to rest during this time. Then, once they are a bit perkier, you need to make sure they do not over-exert themselves with too much playing, running, and jumping. We provide pain medication before and after the surgery, and will also give you medication as needed for their at-home recovery. Please follow our instructions so that your cat is comfortable while their surgical wounds heal. Depending on the cat surgery, we may ask that you bring your pet in for a follow-up appointment so we can make sure they are making progress and healing properly.
Should you have any questions before or after surgery, please don’t hesitate to contact us! We’re here to help both you and your kitty.
Did You Know?
Ever wonder why your cat meows? Interestingly, cats don’t typically meow at each other, only at us (probably to get our undivided attention).
